Smoky Quartz is also known by it's Scottish name of Cairngorm Stone, or if it's the black variety it's sometimes called Morion.  It's not a particularly rare stone but not seen in Jewellery often enough.

Energetically this is a grounding stone that works to awaken the intelligence of your physical body so that you inhabit it more mindfully. As an important Base Chakra Stone It brings aids the physical on all levels whether achieving goals, addictive behaviour, diet etc. It's not a 'Magic Wand' but by bringing your consciousness to these issues it gives you the opportunity and some impetus to resolve them.
